Self-Striping Sock Yarn

Helen Giddens

I’ve been attempting something new and exciting. I’ve dyed up some self-striping sock yarn.

Now I have to admit it’s been a bit of a pain!! The dyeing process itself is not an issue but I’ve found the winding to and from the warping board (pre and post dyeing) very slow and time-consuming. But I seem to be getting more efficient.

I have 4 new self-striping colourways hitting the shop tonight at 8 pm (late notice I know, sorry). Here they are Glacier, Baubles, Hot Chocolate and Robin Red Breast.

It was definitely fun coming up with the colour combinations and it will be really interesting to see how well they sell.

I’m considering running a small batch of pre-orders if they sell well but I’ve not decided yet if I have to time to commit to that.

Check out the image below to give you an idea of how the self-striping knits up.
